A Postcard from the Nile

It is rather odd how quiet the Nile is, amid the hectic noise of Cairo, here we are on this open white boat (Felucca) decorated with shiny, bright, colorful lightbulb strings, watching the Egyptian sky changing color, getting darker and darker as the buildings of Cairo start to light up one at time, like a domino effect.

It is quiet, so quiet. How could this be? a few hours ago we were in the heart of the capital, right in the middle of it all, traffic, people, heat. it is like we were transformed to our own island in the Nile, peaceful nothing but the low humming of the motor rocking us gently .
